The Chicago Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) will host “College Bound!! Knowledge is Power” Scholarship Fundraiser during Black History Month on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 5 pm-9 pm at the South Shore Cultural Center – Solarium.
This event will be held to raise money for our chapter’s scholarship fund and with your support, this will be another successful endeavor. The program will include dinner, entertainment (Comedian Jay Deep, Double Stitch Fashionista’s, Ericka & Monica Simmons) dynamic speakers (State Senator Elgie Sims, CTA President Dorval Carter & Illinois Tollway Chief Terry Miller) with views of our illustrious City of Chicago lakefront setting of the South Shore Cultural Center.
COMTO Chicago’s scholarship program provided $8,000 in scholarships in 2019. It’s our goal to provide $15,000 in scholarships to deserving students this year. We invite you to make a difference to a worthy cause and support your COMTO Chicago to provide scholarships to local students inspiring to go into the transportation industry.

COMTO’s Careers in Transportation for Youth (CITY) internship program provides minority college juniors and seniors with a unique opportunity to gain professional and practical experience in the transportation industry!
We are now accepting applications until February 25, 2020! Interviews: March 2020 Applicant Notification: No later than May 2020 Internship Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2020
COMTO Chicago is excited to kick off our annual COMTO Week events. This year, we are celebrating a resurgence of the chapter that has produced advancements in the areas of membership, DBE involvement, community outreach, and our scholarship program.
During our annual COMTO Week, we want to celebrate 2019 with a line up of back to back events in effort to reward ourselves as well as renew our outreach spirits going into 2020.
Our events are open for everyone! Bring family members, friends, current COMTO members as well as any potential COMTO members.
Application deadline has now been extended to May 30th, 2019! COMTO Chicago is offering 5 scholarship opportunities! If you know a senior in high school, college, or graduate student tell them to apply today!!
